Kim Timmons
Kim Timmons is a multifaceted artist who works in oil, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, batik, and blown glass. She received her Masters of Art from Texas Tech in Art Education and worked as a graphic and portrait artist after college. Each piece of art she creates is designed to remind the viewer of the beauty and passion found in everyday life.
Kim lives in Burnet where she taught art and inspired high school students for over thirty years…many who have advanced to win competitions, receive scholarships, and study abroad. In 2011-2012, Kim and her Burnet students were featured in the PBS special, Art:21, which was designed to connect public school art teachers with successful working artists. In 2012, she received the prestigious honor of High School Art Teacher of the Year by the Teacher Art Education Association.
Kim has achieved great personal success as an artist. She has been part of two “Artist in Residency” in North America and exhibited her work at the Austin Art Institute. She often enters Plein Air competitions and shows, continues to teach both adults and students, and participates in an inspirational series of speaking engagements focusing on “Finding your Passion.”
