"The Art of Soon Y. Warren" was an exhibit at Art Gallery Prudencia in early 2020. Soon is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society and has won numerous awards with her watercolors. At the opening reception for her exhibit, the artist demonstrated her technique to the many guests who were present.
At the event, another of our artists, Susan Masinter Riley, who is also a professional photographer, created this video- highlighting Soon and many of her works.

Susan Riley began her love affair with photography in the early 1970s as a student at the Southwest School of Arts and Crafts in San Antonio.
Early in 2013, a brilliant friend and client suggested to Susan that she begin making art prints for sale, specifically images of women from the 1910s and 1920s who made their names onstage and in very early films. In Susan Riley's 'Vintage Beauty' gallery, you will find the original portraits in black and white format, then her re-imagined version with full color and finally a video detailing the embellished sparkle she has added by hand onto the print surface. Some of her beautiful photographs are at the gallery.
A good example of Susan's work is one of her recent commissioned pieces. Susan says that "Helena Guenther in 1911 was one of the earliest queens of Fiesta in San Antonio. The original gown is part of a museum collection so I used that for color reference. A good bit of hand-painting on this one". Please enjoy this beautiful enhanced photograph.

This video was created by artist/photographer Susan Masinter Riley at the Opening Reception for Sheila and Cliff's show at the gallery back in November, 2019. We enjoyed champagne that evening as our many guests met and talked with Sheila and Cliff about their art.
In the video, you will see beautiful views of some of both artists' pieces on display at the opening reception, and we thank Susan Riley very much for creating it for us.

The video was created by Susan Riley from Kim's reception and artist talk in September, 2019.
Kim is a Fort Worth-based abstract artist, who has for the last few years been concentrating in "botanicals"- works that are heavily influenced by the tangled forms, interwoven patterns, and layers of shapes found in nature. Extending many of the watercolor techniques she learned as a beginning artist many years ago, she has chosen acrylics as her primary medium.
Kim's painting "Iris" (featured in the video) was selected as part of the 90th Juried Exhibition of The San Antonio Art League and Museum.

The video was created by Gallery artist and professional photographer/videographer Susan Riley prior to the official May 8th, 2020 opening of "Pastel Interpretations", an exhibit of the works of artists Irena Taylor and Guy Blair.
In the video, you have an opportunity to walk through the exhibit and look at many of the works of these two talented artists up close. We want to thank Susan yet again for doing such a beautiful video that we hope will enable a wide audience to gain an appreciation of the pastels done by Irena and Guy.
