Kim Hinnant
"I am not a painter who became interested in the western lifestyle but rather a cowgirl who is blessed to be able to share my heart on canvas. Riding, training, and competing on horses since I was a little girl is something I love and a large part of who I am. I’ve lived on a ranch most of my life and my passion for the old west, the modern day cowboy/girl, and the horse is reflected in my realistic style of painting.
"Several years ago I attended a Pow Wow where I met a group of men doing a historical reenactment of the Buffalo Soldiers. They were representing a fascinating piece of history I had never heard of before or been taught in school. That birthed a desire in me to depict the Buffalo Soldier of the 1800's on canvas to honor them as well as educate others on their existence.
"I am drawn to paint something because of the way it makes me feel. It’s always a joy and a challenge to capture that emotion on canvas as I strive to give others a glimpse into a way of life few experience."
